There’s an app for that – Saskatchewan’s Royal Visit
With the ever-growing popularity of smart phone apps, it was no surprise when the client we’d worked with on the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee website asked us to develop an app for the Royal Visit in May, 2012.
A few months ago, we were approached to develop a brand and a website for Saskatchewan’s celebrations of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. With this project, the client was looking to appeal to a younger generation and wanted to do so by developing a smart phone app to highlight Prince Charles and Camilla’s visit to the province.
We worked with developers and came up with an app that will give users all the information they will need in the palm of their hand. The app is integrated with the Jubilee website, so when an event it posted to the site, the app is automatically updated.
What is kind of cool about this app is the postcard feature. Users can choose a Saskatchewan snapshot from a photo gallery in the app and send an electronic postcard to the Queen. A functional, yet interesting app that we think will definitely appeal to the right demographic. You can download it here: http://itunes.apple.com.
